My story is...I had my first mammogram just after my 40th birthday in March 2003. One week before I got remarried I was diagnosed with stage 1 ductal carcinoma breast cancer. After the honeymoon, I had surgery. Thank God, I had my first mammogram when I did. I do not fall under any special category. I was exercising, eating right, and leading a healthy life. I did not have children late in life. I do not drink or smoke. I walk 2.5 miles daily and drink water all day long. Please remember our heavenly Father put us here on this earth and he is in charge of our lives daily. Have those mammograms. Barbara C. Childers |
