Breast Cancer Awareness For Women

Ask Yourself...

  • Are You At Risk?
  • Are you childless?
  • Are you getting older?
  • Did your period start before age 12?
  • Did you start menopause after age 55?
  • Did you have your first child after age 30?
  • Do you have a family history of breast cancer?
  • Have you had a benign breast biopsy showing atypical hyperplasia?
  • Do you have a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 breast cancer genes?

What Can You Do About It?
Perform a Breast Self-Exam when your period ends (or if you do not have periods) at the same time each month. Get a Clinical Breast Exam from a trained medical professional and annual mammogram.

Basic Supplies: Kreate-A-Envelope Template or similar template, Decorative Edge & Regular Scissors, Pencil, Hole Punch, Glue Stick, Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks, Spray Adhesive, Q-tips or Paint Brush and Ruler.

Designers Note: All papers and cardstock used are 8.5 x 11".

Basic Envelope Instructions: Spray adhesive decorative paper to one card stock. Using envelope template, trace form with pencil and cut out envelope. Fold with decorative paper to the inside, glue bottom flap of envelope. Set aside.

Basic Card Instructions: Fold cardstock in half from top to bottom. Use bone or ruler to make a crisp fold. Measure to envelope and trim 1/2" smaller than envelope opening.

Hot Pink Card & Envelope

Message: This is to remind you; Do Your Breast Exam! Make an Appointment for Your Mammogram!

Supplies: (1) Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher, (2) Sheets Hot Pink Card Stock, (2) Sheets Blush Pink Banana Mikado, (1) Sheet Vellum, (1/2) yard 1/4" Pastel Pink Double Faced Satin Ribbon, (1/2) yard 1/4" Hot Pink Double Faced Satin Ribbon.

Instructions: Follow basic instructions for envelope and card. Fold Banana Mikado paper 1/2" smaller than card; dampen folded edge with Q-tip and tear gently. Computer generate or hand write Breast Cancer Awareness message on vellum. Refer to photo for placement. Trim 1/4" smaller than the Banana Mikado piece with decorative edge scissors. Measure and locate center top of card. Make 2 holes and thread ribbons through, attach Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher and tie simple bow.

Rose Petal Paper Card & Envelope

Message: A woman's chance of having Breast Cancer during her lifetime is one in eight. Your chance of knowing this woman is nearly 100%. Is it You? Make an appointment for a Mammogram Today!

Supplies: (1) Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher, (2) Sheets Parchment Cardstock, (1) Sheet Rose Petal Kozo, (2) Sheets Blush Pink Mulberry Laser, (1/2) yard 1/4" Pastel Pink Double Faced Satin Ribbon, (1/2) yard 1/4" Hot Pink Double Faced Satin Ribbon.

Instructions: Follow basic instructions for envelope and card. Fold Rose Petal Kozo paper 1/4 " from edge of card. Moisten folded edge with Q-tip and tear gently. Computer generate or hand write Breast Cancer Awareness message on Blush Pink Mulberry Laser. Trim edge with decorative scissors. Refer to photo for placement. Tie ribbons to Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher and hot glue bow to card.

Double Momigami Heart Paper Card & Envelope

Message: There are over one million women in America with undetected Breast Cancer. Are you one of them?

Supplies: (1) Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher, (2) Sheets Ivory Cardstock, (1) Sheet Natural Vellum, (2) Sheets Double Momigami Heart paper , (1/2) yard 3/8" Pastel Pink Organza Ribbon.

Instructions: Follow basic instructions for envelope and card. Tear 3.5 x 3.5" square of Double Momigami Heart paper, use ruler or bone to make crisp fold; dampen folded edge with Q-tip and tear gently. Computer generate or hand write Breast Cancer Awareness message on Natural Vellum. Fold edge dampen folded edge with q-tip and tear gently. Refer to photo for placement. Tie ribbon to Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher and hot glue bow to card.

Rubber Stamped Card & Envelope

Supplies: (1) Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher, (2) Sheets Parchment Cardstock, (2) Sheet Blush Pink Mulberry paper, (1) Sheet Natural Vellum (1/2) yard 3/8" Pastel Pink Organza Ribbon, Rubber Stamps and Inks of your choice. Our model used stamps from Stamps Francisco.

Instructions: Follow basic instructions for envelope and card. Fold Blush Pink Mulberry 1/2" from edge of card. Moisten folded edge with Q-tip and tear gently. Rubber stamp images. Refer to photo for placement. Computer generate or hand write Breast Cancer Awareness message on Natural Vellum. Fold edge dampen folded edge with Q-tip and tear gently. Tie ribbon to Breast Cancer Ribbon Suncatcher and hot glue bow to card.
